The Mahindra Thar is the Jimny’s main opponent on the Indian market, and Maruti is playing the features game by including extra equipment that the Thar lacks.
The Mahindra Thar is without a doubt the Maruti Suzuki Jimny’s greatest adversary in India. The latter has a very strong foundation and has shown to be a smashing success. But with the new Jimny 5-door, Maruti is now attempting to take a piece of that market. And like every other Maruti, the Jimny uses its features to seize some of the show.
The Jimny receives the following five characteristics, but the Thar does not:
Washers for headlamps
A really helpful piece of equipment, especially after trudging through muck and slush for the whole day. Additionally, it is quite easy to use; all you have to do is touch the button on the dash below the driver-side AC vent to have clear headlights. LED headlamps
In addition to LED DRLs, the Jimny’s top-spec Alpha trim has LED headlights. It should provide superior vision than the Thar’s antiquated halogen lights, especially at night, based on our experience with Maruti vehicles.
Climate Control, Automatic
Although both SUVs have air conditioning, the Jimny goes above and above in terms of comfort by including automated temperature control. This function is undoubtedly a plus for most owners who would use it in urban areas because it makes it simpler to adjust the ideal temperature and fan speed.
Informational system that is bigger and better
A touchscreen infotainment system is included in both the Thar and Jimny. However, the Jimny receives a bigger 9-inch device, which is also found in the Grand Vitara and Brezza. In our testing, this unit proved to be fluid and surprisingly user-friendly. While the Thar receives a 7-inch screen that is easier to operate but has less crisp, retro visuals.
Powered-Folding ORVMs
This function makes a lot of sense, especially while navigating narrow roads, given that the Jimny (like other off-roaders) will spend the majority of its time in cities. The ORVM may be electrically adjusted in the Thar, but it must be manually retracted. The Jimny does not require manual work.
