On June 7, 2023, Maruti Suzuki, the largest automaker in India, released the much awaited Jimny SUV price information. The five-door SUV made its debut at the Auto Expo 2023 and has since gained popularity in the marketplace. Since the automaker started pre-orders for the Jimny SUV and it passed the major milestone of 30,000 units, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
Maruti Suzuki India committed a substantial sum of money—roughly Rs 960 crore—to the creation of the Jimny, demonstrating the company’s dedication to producing a superior item. The launch of the five-door SUV, which was previously only offered in three-door form, represents a key turning point for Maruti Suzuki.
Globally, the Jimny has been a resounding success for Suzuki, who have sold more than 3.2 million copies of the vehicle in 199 different nations and areas. This updated model is in direct competition with the Mahindra Thar, another well-liked sports utility vehicle.
The Jimny’s base model is priced at Rs. 12.74 lakh by Maruti Suzuki, while the top-end variant will cost Rs. 15.05 lakh (ex-showroom). However, Twitter erupted with comments as soon as the prices were revealed, and it appears that many individuals are dissatisfied with the asking price.
“Shall we pay a premium for Maruti over Mahindra?” said one user.
Another customer agreed, writing, “For off-road aficionados to have as second car, it is VFM for the starter variant as it comes standard with 44. One would have to be deaf to prefer this over Thar over any other option.
Overpriced!, a different prospective client expressed their change of heart, adding. I made a reservation on the first day, but as the price was revealed, everyone around me persuaded me to choose another alternative.
