According to the most recent sources, the military services have already indicated interest in the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, which is thought to be a worthy replacement for the Indian Army’s aging fleet of Gypsys.


The Indian military services have indicated interest, and Maruti Suzuki may pursue this after the Jimny is formally introduced to the market, according to Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director – Marketing and Sales.



Srivastava said that the 5-door version of the Jimny, which will be on sale on June 7, 2023, has attracted interest from the Indian Army. He continued by saying that the automaker was now researching the army’s specifications for the vehicle.

The Jimny’s 1.5-liter petrol engine produces 134.2 Nm at 4,000 rpm and 103 BHP at 6,000 rpm in India. Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic engine.
