Maruti Suzuki Fronx and Jimny Garner Over 40,000 Bookings to Date

Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx and Jimny subcompact SUVs, which were first displayed at the Auto Expo in January 2023, had almost 40,000 reservations after just 70 days.

The 5-door Jimny and the Fronx SUVs were on exhibit by Maruti Suzuki at the 2023 Auto Expo. Reservations for both Vehicles started on January 12th. Both offline and online bookings are being accepted by Maruti Suzuki for the Jimny 5-door and the Fronx at its Nexa stores across India.


The Jimny requires a 25,000 rupee deposit to reserve, whereas the Fronx is available for just 11,000 rupees. The Jimny and the Fronx have reportedly already had more than 23,500 and 13,500 reservations, respectively, and their combined total will shortly approach 40,000, according to the sources.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Fronx both include a 9.0-inch touchscreen entertainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as other amenities like automated climate control, wireless charging, ABS with EBD, and much more. With features like an auto-dimming IRVM, a 360-degree camera, and an Arkamys-tuned sound system, among others, Fronx has additional features.

The 1.5-liter gasoline engine in the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door produces 103 horsepower and 134 Nm of maximum torque. Both a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 5-speed manual transmission with an AllGrip Pro 4X4 system will be available as powertrain choices for improved off-road performance. A 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission with an AllGrip Pro 4X4 system are the two powertrain choices for better off-road performance.


On the other hand, a 1.0-liter gasoline turbocharged engine with the Maruti Fronx will be offered; it produces 98.6 horsepower and 147.6 Nm. It will be coupled with a 6-speed AT and a 5-speed manual transmission. There will also be a 1.2-litre petrol engine with 113 Nm of torque and 88.5 horsepower.


Maruti Suzuki Jimny and Fronx: Price and Competition


Jimny’s pricing might be made public in May and is predicted to start at Rs 10 lakh. On the other hand, the Fronx’s price will be made public in April and is anticipated to start at Rs 8 lakh.



Although the Jimny will take on off-roading SUVs like the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, the Fronx will compete against vehicles like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.
