Twisted will do modifications on a vehicle other than the Land Rover Defender for the first time in its existence.

Off-road specialist Twisted, based in Yorkshire, has declared its intention to produce a modified Suzuki Jimny. Twisted will perform modifications on a car other than the Land Rover Defender for the first time ever in the company’s history. The first model that Twisted will modify is the Jimny Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV).

Each vehicle would cost less than £50,000 (approximately Rs 51 lakh), plus VAT, according to a press release. The Jimny Twisted’s specifics have not yet been made public. However, according to Top Gear, the car will have “engaging handling and power delivery” and a “progressive” suspension. The Jimny will also receive the unique interiors that are a Twisted trademark, a wheel and tyre package, improved infotainment and improved soundproofing. The first model that Twisted will modify is the Jimny Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV).

Charles Fawcett, the owner of Twisted, said in a statement that “Land Rover runs through my veins.” But I’m fortunate enough to remember other straightforward 4x4s with affection. One of the very few vehicles remaining in existence today that retains the same driving experience as when its ancestors were introduced more than 40 years ago is the Jimny. It still makes every journey enjoyable and brings a smile to your face,” he continued.

A 1.5-liter petrol engine will be available for the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. The vehicle has a top power output of 103 bhp and a maximum torque output of 134.2 Nm. Either a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic gearbox will be available for the SUV. Since the Jimny will be equipped with Suzuki’s AllGrip all-wheel drive system, it will be able to compete with Mahindra’s Thar and Force Gurkha in terms of significant off-roading capabilities.

Beginning in May, India will sell the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. The off-roader, which has garnered considerable interest since making its debut at the Auto Expo 2023, is anticipated to start at Rs 9.99 lakh for its entry-level Zeta MT model. Price for the Jimny Alpha AT model could increase to Rs 13.99 lakh. India will offer the vehicle in a five-door configuration. The Jimny is offered as a three-door variant all over the world.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will have a clamshell bonnet, a front grille with vertical openings, round headlights with independent indicators, and rear combo lamps. The SUV will also have an infotainment system called SmartPlay Pro+ with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connections.
