In response to recent critiques of a TVC shoot in which the Jimny was seen wading over a body of water in Ladakh, Maruti reportedly opted to relocate the Jimny media drives. The automaker may have opted against carrying out the planned media drives in the Union Territory out of fear of retaliation.
Last month, Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal denounced Maruti Suzuki’s actions as “irresponsible advertisement act” and called for their immediate revocation. He said that the region’s delicate ecological shouldn’t be harmed for financial benefit and encouraged the authorities to put an end to the shooting and sue the corporation.
